As a therapist, I work with those suffering from emotional, physical and spiritual issues. Many hold the perspective that suffering reflects some weakness, or it’s something that must be extinguished quickly or is a sign of grave illness. In reality, through our suffering, we learn the greatest truths about ourselves and the human condition. Suffering helps reveal what we need to pay attention to during that time. Have your greatest lessons or truths come from a period of suffering or from a time where suffering was not present?
